Purported reason for the motivations for pushing White Privilege, Whiteness Studies, or Critical Race Theory aside, here is an explanation for the existence of these programs.
All of these have their origins in Cultural Marxism, which is the means by which Western Marxists have steadily trained Westerners, particularly those of the US, to accept and desire Socialism:

".........Early 20th century Marxists were shocked that the proletariat did not rise up against the ruling classes in WWI. In response, they got together and correctly realized their problem -Western Civilization - its very existence was lamented by early Marxists such as Georg Lukaks and Antonio Gramsci . When Lukaks asked his Henry II-esque rhetorical question "Who will save us from Western Civilization ", he meant that this particular culture/society stood squarely in the way of the advance of worldwide Marxism. The concepts of rule of law, Judaism and Christianity, property rights, patriotism, historical legacies of freedom, individualism, etc.were too entrenched in the hearts and minds of the people to allow for the march of Communism. As the people did not know what was good for them, they had to be shorn of these attachments. What we got was "Cultural Marxism" - the plan of the Western Marxists to undermine the attitudes of Western peoples about themselves and their societies....."
Societies that were marked by the concepts that are bolded in the above paragraph are virtually solely restricted to those founded by whites. While other peoples have certainly achieved much and have admirable traits, the societies of Western Europe tend to be the ones that are the least conducive to autocracies, be they of one leader or by committee. Asian societies, for example, have cultures that place a high priority on accepting what governmental officials say must be done. Individualism simply does not exist in Islam. The Rule of Law is unknown in most of Africa.
As the most free and prosperous nations in the world were founded by Western Europeans, people who also traditionally adhere to a Judeo-Christian outlook - neither being a good match with Marxism for various reasons, the easiest way to "make straight the path" for Marxism in the West is to paint a lurid picture of slavers, robbers, and general despoilers.
What of course is Left out is the following:
-Slavery (and related types of bondage) was ended by white societies before those any other region.
-The right to vote regardless of position or gender was an achievement of white societies.
-Equal rights for women likewise is an accomplishment of white societies.
-The protection of personal property is strongest in white societies
-Workers enjoy the greatest amount of rights in white societies.
-Children too are protected in white societies to a far greater extent than anywhere else.
-Representative government and the nation-state are creations of white societies.
-Freedom of religion without assignment of second-class status is also unique to white societies.
-Criminal Justice systems of white societies have yet to be outdone.
-The greatest achievements in medicine and science are the work of white societies.
-The Middle Classes (the bane of Marxists) of white societies have the oldest origins.
-There are also of course the literary, artistic, ,musical, and architectural works of white societies, which not only demonstrate a tremendous degree of inspiration, but also boast the greatest degree of variety.

No culture demanded a similar amount of mercy to prisoners of war or placed such strong restrictions on soldiers in their dealings with non-combatants]

As none of these are important to Leftists, it is not hard to understand why the societies and people that created them must be brushed aside.

The conference’s website adds that teachers are eligible for continuing education credits if they attend. High school, undergraduate and graduate students are also eligible for academic credit if they participate.
Hoft, Olson, and Marcus said the conference had roughly 2,400 attendees, and many were students or educators. One individual from the Department of Education told the group there were at least 45 staff members from just one school district at the conference.
The trio said the speakers repeatedly emphasized how important it is to start teaching students about “white privilege” when they are as young as four and five years old, and that they also conflated racism was conflated with capitalism.
Olson said one of the main messages was, “in order to deal with racism … we need to attack capitalism and [change] our very economic structure and economic system.”
Hoft added: “It’s not about moving the country, moving society, in a positive direction … It’s very clear that they’re just pushing Marxism.”......................."
