Fourth Graders Made to Pledge to Give up Rights for Safety

The Left is rolling on with its campaign to wrest our youth away from their inheritance.

"The words are written in crayon, in the haphazard bumpiness of a child’s scrawl.

“I am willing to give up some of my constitutional rights in order to be safer or more secure.”

They’re the words that Florida father Aaron Harvey was stunned to find his fourth-grade son had written, after a lesson in school about the Constitution."

The teacher had brought a lawyer to speak to the class, ostensibly to teach them about the Bill of Rights. What apparently happened was that our Constitutional rights were made out to be too dangerous for us, and the students were later required to write a pledge to give up liberty for safety.

The note was fortunately noticed by the student's Mom, who brought it to the attention of his Dad. It was he who, thankfully, took this ball and ran with it. If the note had been discarded as many old assignments do, the only complaint would have been an earlier one from another parent that apparently did not contact any media outlets.

The teacher had the gall to assert that the student made this decision on his own:

"Harvey told TheBlaze he received a call from the school Friday morning that featured the principal, guidance counselor and Sabb. He was told the sentence came during the lesson with the lawyer, that Sabb [The teacher] had nothing to do with it, and that Harvey’s son “wrote it on his own free will.' "

If we do not admit to ourselves that the Left is at war with us, we will awake one day to find the nation too far gone. Unlike past generations, we do not have the luxury of leaving and starting over in a new and free nation. The Left needs their lebensraum, and I say let them have it. Give them the states in which they have the majority and we will take those that are not yet  lost. There is no compromise with these people. We have to create a restored and reformed American republic in which these sorts of ethical crimes do not happen.
