Royal Canadian Mounted Police Whitewashes Islam

First it was Western Europe that made verboten the mention of Muslim, Islam, or Jihad in connection with any report on Islamic terrorism. The US followed by excising such references in the Justice Department and military training courses.

One of the most respected law enforcement agencies in the world, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, apparently not willing to be outdone in Orwellian Doublespeak*, is also on board with this program:

Two excellent Sun Network videos by Brian Lilley are on the linked post.

I often wonder if there actually are some people that believe refraining from employing the now-prohibited terms will result in would-be terrorists changing their minds about planning or executing any more attacks or if the current amount of Jihadists will be reduced by such niceties. Do the Elite actually think that the use of these terms are in any way a contributing factor to terrorism? When the bad guys are caught and charged, they can't wait to proclaim that what they are doing is influenced by Islam. I have yet to hear of one terrorist that claimed to be have planned or committed and attack due to reading an article or listening to a TV in which Jihad or Islam is mentioned. In fact, the Jihadists appear from every angle to want us to know why they are doing what they do.

Lilley also notes that the "Jihad is an inner struggle" line, a Doublespeak of epic proportions (That is a tiny subset of Jihad), was used in the RCMP training/policy manual that he notes in the video.

In the 80's and 90's, the US Justice Department insisted in telling us that there was no such thing as willing suicide bombers. Attacks such as the 1983 Marine Barracks bombing in Lebanon were, against all the evidence, portrayed as the work of hapless victims who were told that they had been placed on truck seats rigged to explode if they left the vehicle. In reality, the rigged seat could of course be true but in all likelihood was done in the event that the driver was shot or removed from the seat while attempting to do the bombing. The spin included claims that the bomber had been told that failing to bring the bomb to the intended target would result in the death of not only himself but his family as well. It always reminded me of the spin that the American public heard about Kamikaze bombers; they were told that the pilots were nothing but saps who had been drugged with opium.

More likely is the possibility that the Elite have no intention of allowing us to be aware of the threat. They would rather have us ignorant of what we are facing. Failing in that, we would be bound by the rules to avoid talking about the elephant in the room until it is too late. The Left wants power. They can't seize it unless we are helpless. Widespread terrorist acts can go a long way towards getting people to feel as if they are helpless.

July 14 2012: I should have noted that the term "doublespeak" is actually applied in a backwards manner to Orwell. He employed the terms "doublethink" and "newspeak" in 1984. Doublespeak is sort of a modern combination of the two totalitarian terms that seek both to obscure/make impossible clear thought and prevent one from being able to think in an independent style or contrary to that of which the establishment approves.
