After being written off by almost everyone, especially once they were to play the Texas Rangers, the Cardinals played ball in in a manner worthy of the history books. Their comeback in game 6 should rank at the top of all games where a team faced elimination, in this specific case being down to their last strike twice and proceeded to tie the game and then win in extra innings.
Game seven, although played well, almost was anti-climatic. Chris Carpenter, being able to come back to pitch on three days rest due to Wednesday's rainout, pulled himself together after an ugly first inning and held the opposition while the Cardinals found one way after another to put a run or two runs on board.
David Freese is now the leader in RBIs for a single postseason.
This was without a doubt one for the books.
