I would rather that we take the time to reflect on the horror in the city that saw much of the first stirrings of our Independence.
-On the day chosen to mark the anniversary of Lexington and Concord no less.
We all grieve for the victims and those close to them.
I hope that the authorities break this case open, get their hands on every animal involved , and successfully prosecute them.
Being a retired police Bomb technician I also pray for the Bomb Squad personnel that have a gruesome and still dangerous job ahead of them as they work to clear the area of any more possible devices.

In classic diplomatic language, the Vatican has made is painfully clear that they not only have had enough of radicals operating within the Church in an effort to undermine Christian beliefs and the authority of the Church itself, but that they have every intention of doing something about it.
As our contributor Scipio noted in a phone conversation a few weeks back, the Left and the remoras who tag along for the ride dropped in wholesale fashion the traditional idea of leaving the Church or a nation for a place that better suited them. Those who ran the "Progressive" show changed their strategies completely, insisting that every hand remain in place and work to destroy the edifice from within. Thus Leftists ran to universities to begin their Gramcsi-inspired "Long march through the institutions" and radical feminists, rather than leaving the convent or avoiding it in the first place, now opted to stay in (Or join) the ranks of nuns with the intention of initiating an insidious game of Jenga that had one key variation - that the one who pulled the last block to force the collapse would be the winner, not the loser. The faithful nuns would be brushed aside for this operation.
So on came the calls for priestesses in a region in which its very founder refers to God as "Father", campaigns to denigrate the credibility of the scriptures, introductions of patently non-Christian rituals that amounted to goddess worship, support of abortion and euthanasia, pressure to declare inherently sinful acts as perfectly fine, installations of rabidly anti-Church faculty in seminaries, and severe intrusions into the civil side that were nothing other than Socialist-inspired and guaranteed to run the economy of a nation into the ground.
Until recently this group was so aggressive and the beneficiary of the good treatment by the Leftist media that will jump through flaming hoops to give air time to "Catholics" - nuns no less, who support almost everything the Church by its very nature opposes, that it appeared that it could not be touched.

"We pray that these conversations may bear fruit for the good of the church," it said without further elaboration.

White House Budget Plan Limits Wealth in IRA's

In what is either a plan B instead of, or a prelude to, the future wholesale seizing of private retirement accounts*, the Obama administration has made plans to limit the amount of money that can be deposited into retirement accounts.
401K's, IRA's and such are pet targets for Leftist economists in our era. Allowing the public to defer tax payments on earned wealth until one can be taxed at a lower rate is something that certainly has long rankled Leftists, but only since the last two presidential elections have these individuals felt safe enough to overtly push to change the rules. Only the election of someone who advocated fundamentally transforming the United States could provide a sign that the electorate has changed sufficiently to make the coast clear for attacks on personal property. Only the reelection the same man, who apparently so desperately wanted to quit that he did everything he could to lose the 2012 election, proved that these attacks could go mainstream and become the new norm.
The White House has taken it upon themselves to determine how much annual income you need from your investments to live comfortably in your retirement.
"The [proposed 2014] budget will include a new proposal that prohibits individuals from accumulating over $3 million in IRAs and other tax-preferred retirement accounts. Under current rules, some wealthy individuals are able to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving. The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per year in retirement, or about $3 million in 2013. This proposal would raise $9 billion over 10 years."
This is exactly the same argument that the Leftist are using against privately-owned firearms; trying to force you to defend yourself by citing "needs" when the the issue is one of rights. They arbitrarily set a certain dollar amount, one that is not only based on a very generously predicted rate of return but also ignores the classic means to governmental seizure of property - inflation, and tell you that since this all that you "need", they will have to prevent you from earning any more than this upon retirement.

A restriction of this type does not hurt the truly wealthy (Not that they should be targeted either) but literally hammers those who have socked away the most money earned from years of hard work. As colonizers look upon indigenous peoples, free tribes are only holding agents for land until it can be appropriated by more colonizers. Your money is the same; while it is in your hands you are its temporary possessor until they figure out a way to either wet their beaks or take the bulk of it.
People who are driven by an overwhelming sense of ambition are drawn to positions of power. Many of these quickly become aware that they do not have the skills to attain such positions in private organizations that produce wealth. Still desirous of power, they turn to politics and seek election to office or appointments to bureaucratic assignments, where they will not only be able to wield considerable power, but will be effectively shielded from any negative consequences for failure. The most ambitious and incompetent of these head straight for the Left. Failure for such types is only an opportunity to justify the seizure of more power and the property of others. A vicious cycle ensues - each restriction or seizure creates more failure, which is employed as proof positive that yet for restrictions and seizures are needed.
The Left would seek to look at money as a form of "credits"; measurable units that should be periodically gathered back into the arms of the State and doled out as it see fit. The earner is enslaved by crushing governmental debt and the ongoing and growing welfare state. Want an iota of freedom from the local family case worker? - Then you will work and produce for as long as we see fit.
The article at top should be read in its entirety I call the writer out on one thing - he refers to the creators of this proposal as idiots-savants. In truth, they are nether idiots nor savants; they are envious, hateful, and controlling people who will do everything within their power to reduce all of us to perpetual servitude and a state of state of ignorance of the history and culture that made our society.

They’re the words that Florida father Aaron Harvey was stunned to find his fourth-grade son had written, after a lesson in school about the Constitution."
"Harvey told TheBlaze he received a call from the school Friday morning that featured the principal, guidance counselor and Sabb. He was told the sentence came during the lesson with the lawyer, that Sabb [The teacher] had nothing to do with it, and that Harvey’s son “wrote it on his own free will.' "
If we do not admit to ourselves that the Left is at war with us, we will awake one day to find the nation too far gone. Unlike past generations, we do not have the luxury of leaving and starting over in a new and free nation. The Left needs their lebensraum, and I say let them have it. Give them the states in which they have the majority and we will take those that are not yet lost. There is no compromise with these people. We have to create a restored and reformed American republic in which these sorts of ethical crimes do not happen.

The teacher had brought a lawyer to speak to the class, ostensibly to teach them about the Bill of Rights. What apparently happened was that our Constitutional rights were made out to be too dangerous for us, and the students were later required to write a pledge to give up liberty for safety.
The note was fortunately noticed by the student's Mom, who brought it to the attention of his Dad. It was he who, thankfully, took this ball and ran with it. If the note had been discarded as many old assignments do, the only complaint would have been an earlier one from another parent that apparently did not contact any media outlets.

Washington State Sues Florist for Gay Wedding Non-Participation

Colin McEvedy applied this phrase to the economic and political conditions of the last centuries of the Western Roman Empire. The Roman republic had collapsed in the period of the 1st Century BC - early 1st century AD and devolved into the Principate. When the Empire found itself unable to deal with the decline in revenues, foreign invasions, and the enervation of the people (Which paved the way for the former two), it was totally reformed under Diocletian, who became the first true emperor. Gone were even the trappings of the old Republican government, which had at least had some functions during much of the Principate. The ruling court of Rome would henceforth be run in the manner of that of an eastern despot.
Diocletian enacted a series of reforms, making the empire far more restrictive than it had ever been. Prices were fixed, the people were taxed to the nth degree , the bureaucracy soared in size and power, persecutions of Christians began again, and the people were required to assume the occupations of their parents.
-Nothing was outside the reach of the civil arm.
A florist in Washington State is being sued by the State, not for actually discriminating against gay customers, but for refusing to participate in an event of theirs that goes against the owner's beliefs; the florist simply refused to fill an order for flowers for a gay wedding. For this the State is seeking and injunction to force the vendor to abandon any principles if she wants to continue being a florist.
As noted in the above paragraph, if vendors refuse to sell to gays simply due to the customer's sexual practices, then they clearly would be in violation of the law. What Washington State wants is to expand the scope of laws protecting people from discrimination to force anyone who operates a business to engage in actions that may be completely contrary to one's principles.
Nazism is not illegal in the US. If a member of a neo-Nazi Party walks into a store owned by a Jewish person, or anyone else for that matter, and orders a product or service custom-made for Hitler's birthday, then the vendor should certainly be within his rights to refuse to fill that order. A vendor cannot refuse service simply because of someones affiliations, but the law cannot rightly be held to force a vendor to participate in an event for that organization.
Want something less severe? OK, how about a vendor that refuses to make t-shirts sponsoring a Harbor Seal hunt? The vendor would not be able to refuse to make t-shirts with other messages/logos for a customer solely due to his grisly occupation, but the law again cannot be used to force someone to take actions that would effectively make one complicit in the smashing of little seal heads.
This is how the State crushes the liberties of the people- making you powerless to stand up in any way for your principles. Tying this method of control to one's occupation is the most oppressive means of doing so.
The Left needs to turn the people into slaves who have no say whatsoever in what they say, learn, or produce. As I noted in previous posts, measures such as this one are only the beginning. Soon, speaking publicly against fake marriages will be illegal. Next, Churches will be penalized for refusing to perform fake weddings. They will either lose their tax-exempt status or their authority to officiate recognized weddings altogether. If this happens, a married couple will, after a church wedding, have to schlep down to town hall to have a civil ceremony if they want their marriage recognized by the state.

Bowdoin College - Purposeful Excision of Our History

Few things are more fitting for this particular blog than the situation on the ground at Bowdoin College in Maine.
There, the Left wing of Academia, which also happens to be massive and incredibly influential, has crafted an environment that mocks the description of "learning". This college was not singled out because it is the exception, but rather due to the fact that Bowdoin exemplifies what is going on in colleges throughout the US.
Excepting a paltry few colleges in the US, obtaining a degree in History is a virtual guarantee of walking away knowing less than one did before filling out the application to attend. Gone from the required courses are staples such as US History and anything that has to do with Western Civilization.
Consider this positively scathing summary of the report on Bowdoin from the National Association of Scholars (From the second link):
"....Before 1969, it was a college with strong intellectual traditions, a core curriculum, and a commitment to Western Civilization. But after 1969, it abolished all general education requirements and turned from what it called “collegiate” education to what its president at the time called “liberating” education. Excepting a paltry few colleges in the US, obtaining a degree in History is a virtual guarantee of walking away knowing less than one did before filling out the application to attend. Gone from the required courses are staples such as US History and anything that has to do with Western Civilization.
Consider this positively scathing summary of the report on Bowdoin from the National Association of Scholars (From the second link):
"....Before 1969, it was a college with strong intellectual traditions, a core curriculum, and a commitment to Western Civilization. But after 1969, it abolished all general education requirements and turned from what it called “collegiate” education to what its president at the time called “liberating” education. Out went the old standards and in came a new focus on race, class, gender, and the environment. Out went the old style of scholarly generalists as teachers and in came the new style of research specialists as faculty members. The new Bowdoin dedicated itself to the achievement of social justice and to reshaping America in the image of progressive politics..... "
The college has been reinvented to take enthusiastic American students and train them to think in classless, genderless, and global citizenship terms.
".....What exactly did President Mills mean when he spoke of “this nation’s democratic
traditions”? He didn’t explain in his own words but quoted approvingly, exclusively, and at
length from University of Chicago law professor Martha Nussbaum, who is a leading advocate of the ideal of “global citizenship.” This understanding of “citizenship” emphasizes identity politics, group rights, environmental justice, and commitment to transnational institutions and perspectives.
Courses in Gender and Women’s Studies investigate the experience of women and men in
light of the social construction of gender and its meaning across cultures and historic
periods. Gender construction is explored as an institutionalized means of structuring
inequality and dominance.5
Here Bowdoin flatly announces that gender is a social construct, the sole purpose of which is to subjugate women. Is gender, according to this view, entirely a social construct? “In light of the social construction of gender” seems to say so, and at the very least it forecloses any interest in other possibilities, such as biology. Individual courses on gender at Bowdoin are built on these assumptions, as is almost all public discussion of the matter."
Being a compulsive reader of any and all types of history, I often run into nice young people, some of whom are friends, who have degrees in History yet know next to nothing. I gave up long ago trying to bring up certain events, personalities, and eras for discussion simply because they have never even heard of them. Even citing Tacitus' account in the Agricola of the aggressive Roman expansion against the Caledonians, something that the Left would possibly like as it rightfully paints the Romans of that period in a less-than-flattering manner, and you may as well have uttered a phrase in Koine Greek. What little they have been taught about Western History is so distorted and slanted against the West as to have been written by a Bolshevik Commissar. The graduate will bring up the Investiture Controversy and, instead of noting that the Pope had no choice but to struggle to regain the authority to appoint bishops, will speak of it as if his source was an anti-Catholic pamphlet from 19th century America. The ironic part is that, if the Pope had acquiesced to Henry IV, (Who understandably wanted some say in the appointment of bishops as they provided much of the structure of a medieval government) then the Papacy would have been portrayed as meekly submitting to a civil authority as occurred in the Byzantine Empire. The US? Well, need we say more? Slavery, Native Americans, subjugated women, and colonialism will essentially comprise the entirety of what the student learns at the hands of American Academia.

In place of the traditional focus on the West at Bowdoin, the emphasis today tends to be
on diversity and multiculturalism, which are embedded in a narrative in which the United States conspicuously and perennially falls short of its ideals. Students too often learn to concentrate their critical doubts on what they come to see as America’s false promises, and at the same time join their enthusiasm to an alternative vision in which “citizenship” is reconstructed as loyalty to the norms of racial justice, gender equity, multiculturalism, etc".

The utter absence of criticism or a scientific approach at Bowdoin may be the most appalling aspect of its culture:

Conn. School Material - No Right to Private Firearms

The campaign to seize control of the hearts and minds of our youth is so pervasive and widespread that even a blog site dedicated solely to this subject would be unable to handle the workload.
A father in Connecticut was shocked to find that the reference material with which his kid was being taught was fraught with somewhat clever twists of the truth and outright lies concerning the right to privately owned firearms.
-Firstly, by now nothing that the Left does, especially when it comes to the malleable and impressionable minds of children, should shock anyone.
“The courts have consistently determined that the Second Amendment does not ensure each individual the right to bear arms,” it purportedly reads. “The courts have never found a law regulating the private ownership of weapons unconstitutional.”
Note that the writer(s) cleverly utilized the fact that in fact some individuals, such as those convicted of crimes, cannot own firearms. They also played with the fact that laws that honestly regulated ownership of firearm's have been upheld. Both of these are examples of lying by employing facts; they are clearly presented in manner that would lead the reader to believe that the courts have not upheld the second amendment (Heller v. District of Columbia, McDonald v. Chicago). They also have lied concerning the facts as most, but not every law, that was made with the purpose of regulating firearms has been upheld.
"The worksheet, published by Instructional Fair, goes on to say that the Second Amendment is not incorporated against the states.
“This means that the rights of this amendment are not extended to the individual citizens of the states,” the worksheet reads. “So a person has no right to complain about a Second Amendment violation by state laws.”
According to the document, the Second Amendment “only provides the right of a state to keep an armed National Guard.' "

These are the more patently false and insidious charges. As Washington DC is not a state, the Left had high hopes that McDonald v. Chicago would be decided in their favor. Their hopes were dashed as the Court did absolutely apply the second amendment to the states, but this did not stop the writers from falsely claiming that it did not. Heller also put to rest the claim that no honest person ever believed; that the National Guard is the only criteria specified in the second amendment. The people are noted specifically in the amendment, and the literal mountain of evidence that was provided in amicus curiae briefs compelled the honest justices to admit that the writers never intended to restrict gun ownership to an official militia. It must also be noted that, at that time, the militia meant every male 15-16 of years or older, so the National Guard does not apply here, either.

Revised - Left Creates Armies of Child Soldiers
Added 4/9/13- I realized that I had not noted the implications of part of the speaker's words.
"....because we’ve always had kind of a private notion of children. Your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children."
The speaker is clearly stating that we (The community) have failed to put a stop to the concept that parents, unless they are clearly endangering the child , have the final say in how children are raised. We are supposed to believe that the nation as whole has been remiss in its duties and has let parents have the final say for far too long.
Also, in a response to the outcry following the story, Ms. Perry pretends to be under the impression that, if her position is wrong, then parents should be grading student's tests. In a textbook Leftist maneuver, she compares the job for which she is paid to the overall authority of parents.

We keep hearing how the Left wants your kids.
"It takes a village to raise a child", was one of the earlier portents of what they had in mind.
The curricula in our public schools, most notably the US-denigrating and Western identity erasing CSCOPE* - one of the latest to hit the shelves, is custom designed to train young people to detest the type of civilization that created this country.

In the video embedded in the link at top, the speaker is making it clear that the Left is no longer disguising any of their intentions. They want your kids; in fact, they are not really yours. The "community" has a stake in them and we have to change how we view the rights of parents to decide what their children learn.
Spartan society was nothing compared to what the Left is doing here. Like most other ancient peoples, the Spartans had slaves, something that we are quite happy to have, thanks to the party of Lincoln, excised from our nation. In their defense, however, the Spartans at least encouraged their citizens to compete and to strive for excellence. The Left, in a full reversal of this plan, wants to re-enslave US society as a whole and to render is as stagnant as a retention basin.
While the Left is forcing illiteracy on our kids with the "sight word"** system and having them, in a sort of throwback to the Paleolithic era, count on their fingers, they speak in noble terms about investing more in the education of our youth. What is conspicuously left out is that they have no desire to teach anything to our kids - what they want is to make them Leftist cyborgs who will. upon reaching 18, pull the lever for them on election day.
The video is very short but as telling as can be. I can't imagine that anyone who until now harbored any doubt about what is in store for US children (Let alone what has already happened) will still have those doubts after hearing what the speaker is advocating:

So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parentsor kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.Our public schools have become nothing less than a modern-day Devshirme system turning out new Janissaries with an efficiency that would make an Ottoman sultan red with envy. The products of these Leftist factories will turn against the very societies that bred them and their parents. While the subject nations of the Ottomans sadly lost their most athletic boys and most beautiful girls for slave-soldiers and sex slaves, to the officers of the Vizier, the US Left wants each and every one of our kids, and they will seek to use the law to do so.
Joseph Kony is small potatoes compared to these guys.
I have no doubt that they will continue to push programs like CSOPE, forbidding parents to see what is being preached to their kids (That has already occurred), go after home-schooling families and Catholic and other Christian schools. They will leave no stone unturned in their campaign to, in the words of Bertolt Brecht:

had lost the government's confidence
and could only regain it with redoubled effort.
If that is the case, would it not be be simpler,
If the government simply dissolved the people
And elected another?"
I have only one question.
At what point to Americans decide that we have to divorce ourselves from the Left, separate salvageable states from the doomed parts of the US, and reestablish a republic in which not only are the schools free of anti-US propaganda, but also one that ensures that parents are free to make decisions for their own children?

Follow-up of Account Theft in Cyprus

The outrageous and inherently unlawful theft that was gift-wrapped with the trappings of legislation produced exactly what we feared. Those who had the most money in the bank accounts were able to spirit much of their wealth out of the country. The cash is now in the banks of other European nations, many of which were competing against each other to draw the new depositors. The Russian oligarchs, who were held out to be the bad guys in order to temporarily placate the anxious Cypriots, got off scot-free. Not that I had any problem with rich Russians (Their money is not my business nor that of any government)), but isolating those who have the most money is the easiest way to allay the people's concerns while the latter gets the worst of it in the end. The Cypriot economy also lost all the wealth that had previously been in the banks of that nation. Leftists are fond of pointing fingers at large bank accounts, but if the money in banks as opposed to hard assets such as gold or physical property (land), that means that the economy has that money to lend and use for business purposes. Hide or remove the money, and an economy stagnates.
It turns out that the ones who got hit badly were the small and middling Cypriot business owners. They lost incredible amounts of cash in this act of pillage. Many are ruined.

Leftists are fond of pointing fingers at large bank accounts, but if the money in banks as opposed to hard assets such as gold or physical property (land), that means that the economy has that money to lend and use for business purposes. Hide or remove the money, and an economy stagnates.
It turns out that the ones who got hit badly were the small and middling Cypriot business owners. They lost incredible amounts of cash in this act of pillage. Many are ruined.

MSNBC Host Brainwashes Her Child - Has Her Regurgitate Material on TV

Like a hostage that is forced to read the card while on camera -
An MSNBC host, not satisfied with having brainwashed her own daughter with grossly distorted simplifications of marriage, displayed the 7 year-old on TV and guided her through the motions of coughing up what had been forced on her.
“ 'What if you were in love with a girl? Would you marry a girl?” Balls asks her daughter.
The little girl seems to be well versed in New York law, as she replies by saying girls can marry girls and boys can marry boys in New York but not in other places.
“And that’s good because you want people to be able to marry who they are in love with, right?” Ball nudged.
Ball went on to explain how “strange” it was that other states haven’t decided to allow gay marriage.
“They should change that, shouldn’t they?” Ball says"
The video hides nothing. The poor kid has not only been subjected to brainwashing by her own mother, but has been force-fed specifics of state laws on marriages, both for real and fake ones.
I assume that there must be a psychological term for the mother's motivations. Our society has allowed morality to collapse. People feel their guilt whether or not they admit it to themselves. To make up for the deficit, they take on the causes of others, even if these are just as bad as that which caused the twang of guilt in the first place. To offer another explanation, in order to deal with one's guilt, we then make it easier for others to do what they should not; that way we can rest content that we are no different from everyone else.
I have a family member who has repeatedly and terribly wronged his/her spouse. As the vicious treatment of the spouse progressed or escalated, the family member delved deeper and deeper into Leftist thought. Not only were domestic campaigns like fake marriages for gays at the top of the list, but other Leftist favorites such as that of the Arabs who, years back, took the title of Palestinian. Hearing what my son's cousin was being told by a parent about the situation on Israel and the Arab territories, I thought to myself that the poor kid may as well have been reading Haaretz or the New York Times. If my son had not taken the time to help him out, the kid may in time have become as shot-out as the one that was serving up the drivel.
This is unfortunately how things go in our current climate; we eagerly participate in the decline of virtue and morality, help others do the same, insist that everyone else accept any and all behavior as good, and then tell ourselves that we are proud of our work.
We (Not all of us, but far too many) kill the unborn (And with births following botched abortions, the already born*), engage in spouse-swapping, give our kids condoms and tell them to be careful, screw over our coworkers and those with whom we do business, generally abandon our God, etc.
What do we do to make up for these? Tell ourselves that we believe in carbon-induced climate change, tell our kids that it is OK to live together, deny farmers in Ca. water for irrigation for a Delta Smelt, and to really feel like we have done well, shake a fist at God by using the legislative process to to put a false but official-appearing label on play-acted marriages. In regards to the latter, even some clergy have jumped on this bandwagon.

Femen Group -Topless Protests in Safe Places

I had thought about posting on the radical feminist group FEMEN previously, but I always wound up choosing something else.
I did, though, find this particular one noteworthy:

The above quote by Ms. Wikan, a Leftist University professor in Norway, has got to be the worst piece of garbage that I have ever known to be spewed from any person's mouth. It is noteworthy that the greatest enemies of Ethnic Norwegian (And often those of other nations) women are Leftists of their own ethnic group.

The opening statement makes a very good point. Feminists, especially the radical ones and the Leftists who keep them in their coalition of special interest groups, have been almost mute on the horrific treatment of women and girls in Islamic societies. Rape, forced prostitution, female genital mutilation, making houses into their prisons, denial of legal rights such as providing testimony against their rapists, and a host of other sharia-approved violations of the natural law have been ignored by the most man-hating of Western women.
Groups such as FEMEN normally limit their protests and invective against Western men and the societies that are largely the creations of the same. Rather than sharia, the usual choice for their breast-baring outbursts are groups such as the Catholic Church or Western men as a whole:
One point that is overlooked as a matter of course is that radical feminists restrict their hatred-spewing against the very same people and societies that made the public square a safe place to doff their shirts and proclaim their hatred of men in the first place. If FEMEN employed their topless technique, they would not even get a chance to start telling the mob how much stronger their boobs were compared to stones in the first place. The animals would go into a frenzy.
The more anger a woman nurses towards men, the more likely it is that she will limit her demonstrations to places that are products of Western societies. There she can do whatever she wants knowing that the bad Western guys won't hurt her.

Calls to Destroy Pyramid Were Not Hoaxes

The enemy uses the power of the pen, actually the keyboard and the TV, both to bear false witness against those who refuse to follow their lead and to lull the West into a false sense of security.
Following the reports of calls for the destruction the pre-Islamic past of Egypt, the Leftists media immediately engaged the hyperdrive and went straight at the throat of any one dared bring yet another example of Islamic intolerance to light. We were all told that we fell for a hoax that was dreamed up by Islamophobes and other right-wing radicals.
This brings to mind the story that was forced on us in the years following the Beirut Marine barracks suicide bombing in 1983. Those of us who spoke out about the culture of suicide attacks in Islam were accused of being unrealistic at best and fools at worst. Even the organizations that establish training criteria for police officers took the position that the terrorist was not a suicide bomber. Having no evidence other than a firing switch under the driver's seat (Which was to ensure that the trick bomb functioned in the event that the driver was killed and removed from the cab of the vehicle), the existence of this firing device was triumphantly held up as proof positive that the driver had been forced to carry out the attack. This charade naturally fell by the wayside once the suicide attacks became commonplace, but the damage had been done; for years after, people refused to believe what had happened and took the sugar-coated explanation.
Like the ridicule hurled at those who rightfully assert that the Library of Alexandria and all of its irreplaceable contents may well have been destroyed following the Islamic conquest of Egypt*, reports of the renewed calls to reduce the pyramids to rubble were met with scorn, derision, and denial.
*Academia blames Christians for all acts of destruction of ancient and classical works and also shields Islam from any similar blame. The fact is that it was only through the labors of Christians that the precious few literary works of pre-Christians were saved at all. If these had not been hand-copied and preserved by Catholic and Orthodox churchmen, we would probably not have a single page of Cicero, Sallust, Livy, Plutarch, Thucydides, Herodotus, Xenophon, or any other pre-Christian of whom early Christians were held to so intolerant. Before the advent of paper, and deprived of papyrus (This being unavailable in the West once Egypt fell to Islam), the only medium for the making these copies was vellum - a wildly expensive material that was always in short supply.
Those who saved the records of the past are condemned in the University, while those who engaged in wholesale destruction of the same are casually let off the hook.
The following is are excerpts of a post (Link at top) by Raymond Ibrahim in which he defends himself from the slanderous attacks by the Leftist media. In the post he exposes the media for the whitewashing of the reports and the false accusations leveled at him for reporting what occurred.

Some questions: If, as DNE suggests, this was a hoax to scare people over the rising influence of Egypt’s Islamists, why did the hoax perpetrators choose a cleric from Bahrain, a small, foreign nation—why not parody an Egyptian cleric, which obviously would’ve made for a much more effective “hoax”?
More importantly, why does DNE not address the other sources I had cited—including Egypt’s very own Salafi party, which is on record calling for the elimination of Egypt’s pyramids? Even Elaph, “one of the most influential websites in the Arab world,” documents that both the Bahraini cleric and Egypt’s Salafis are calling for the Pyramids’ destruction.
Needless to say, DNE’s hoax charge was quickly disseminated by others, who added their own “logic.” For example, after quoting DNE as evidence, one Kate Durham, writing in Egypt Today, focuses on portraying me as having an “agenda” (which, of course, I do: safeguarding the Pyramids).
Likewise, after quoting the DNE report, RT’s “Holy hoax: Radical Islamists call on Egypt to destroy pyramids” offered a revisionist history that truly resembles a “hoax,” arguing that “demolishing the pyramids was prohibited during the 7th century—so the structures remained untouched.”
Really? This almost suggests that the Arabian marauders, who invaded Egypt in the 7th century, pillaging and destroying, were “respectful” of the “cultural significance” of the Pyramids—perhaps designating them as “tourist attractions”? What about 8th century Caliph Ma’mun, who—as this comprehensive English-language fatwa dedicated to explaining the Islamic obligation of destroying pagan monuments, including the Pyramids, puts it—”wanted to destroy the Pyramids in Egypt and he gathered workers but he could not do it”?
What about 12th century Bin Yusif, Saladin’s son and ruler of Egypt? He attempted to destroy the Pyramids, and had an army of laborers work day and night to dismantle Menkaure’s Pyramid, only to quit after eight months, realizing the futility of the task, though his vandals did manage to leave a large vertical gash in the Pyramid’s north face (see here). What about Egypt’s Mamlukes who, with the advent of gun powder, used the “pagan” Sphinx for target practice, effacing its nose?.........."

Likewise, after quoting the DNE report, RT’s “Holy hoax: Radical Islamists call on Egypt to destroy pyramids” offered a revisionist history that truly resembles a “hoax,” arguing that “demolishing the pyramids was prohibited during the 7th century—so the structures remained untouched.”
Really? This almost suggests that the Arabian marauders, who invaded Egypt in the 7th century, pillaging and destroying, were “respectful” of the “cultural significance” of the Pyramids—perhaps designating them as “tourist attractions”? What about 8th century Caliph Ma’mun, who—as this comprehensive English-language fatwa dedicated to explaining the Islamic obligation of destroying pagan monuments, including the Pyramids, puts it—”wanted to destroy the Pyramids in Egypt and he gathered workers but he could not do it”?
What about 12th century Bin Yusif, Saladin’s son and ruler of Egypt? He attempted to destroy the Pyramids, and had an army of laborers work day and night to dismantle Menkaure’s Pyramid, only to quit after eight months, realizing the futility of the task, though his vandals did manage to leave a large vertical gash in the Pyramid’s north face (see here). What about Egypt’s Mamlukes who, with the advent of gun powder, used the “pagan” Sphinx for target practice, effacing its nose?.........."

Leftists Rely on Police Power They Once Denigrated
The superstructure of LE that was created in a large part to deal with the Left, and later terrorists, is being held in reserve by the Left to control Americans.
The mind-shattering amounts of ammunition that have been purchased of late, in bulk to save money - we are told, has only added to the growing concern of citizens that it is they who are being targeted. Combined with the threats to private ownership of firearms, people can no longer buy a couple of boxes of rounds to shoot at their local range*

Now that the Left is in charge, Homeland Security and the Justice Department are here to save us from right-wing radicals. Janet Napolitano has made that much quite clear. The Left also has a fairly strong grip on the outcomes of national elections, and they are targeting Texas for its crucial electoral votes*. Take Texas and the choice of President is a mere formality dressed up as an electoral process.

Failing Christian Churches Grasp Leftist Coatails

When on Easter Sunday the Episcopal Priest railed against the side that stands for everything a Christian Church holds dear (Or should so), we were given a clear picture of the future.
With Obama there, no doubt fully enjoying the Leninist-inspired act of bearing false witness against those who refuse to yield to the ongoing destruction of our society, an official of an ecclesial body that more than most exemplifies the failure of too many denominations in the US, grasped at straws in order to gain support of Progressives.
The problem for the Priest and any other official that does the same is that the Left wants no part of you other than what you can do for them. Once the Left gets all that it wants, and they are getting closer to this every day, he and his types will be quietly brushed aside.
Like Bishop Spong and other representatives of ecclesial bodies that have abandoned their faith and made their organizations lackeys of the Left, Ruiz Leon (Yes the name is ironic as he is more of a sheep) has displayed the same desperation to seek friends when all he had to do was go back to standing for morality, true social justice that does not entail enslaving the worker nor the needy, and functioning as a edifying presence as opposed to a destructive one.
The party that opposed slavery, Jim Crow, and segregation is the party of the bad guys.
Those who understandably fear the ongoing decline of morality and liquidation of the family are eviscerated.
The people who want to live in a nation that does not completely lose the culture(s) that bred it? These are the worst of all. Interestingly, I have yet to find a Leftist that would require a non-Western nation to allow its core culture to be done away with.
The title of the article is mostly correct. The Left is currently triumphant and proclaiming this fact from the rooftops. They also are far from done.
The people would do well to admit to themselves that this is no passing fad. If they do not do so soon, the nation will, to paraphrase St Gerome when commenting on the terrible advances of the Arian* heresy.

Revised-Female Syrian Refugees Targeted for Rape, Prostitution, Young Wives

Revised 4/3/13- Here is a report that clerics have authorized the rape of non-Sunni females as a part of the war effort. Note that the writer conspicuously leaves out Christians as approved victims. These are only briefly included in a quote of a Kuwaiti women who had called to reestablish sex slavery.*You see, rapes and murders of Christians are not mentioned by most Western writers. Reporting on such insignificant issues only incurs the wrath of those who follow the religion of peace.

One that wants to know what is happening has to avoid the Mainstream Media at all costs. The Media, like Obama and Romney, tell us that Assad needs to go. As we were assured about Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, and Libya, all will be fine once the autocrats were driven out.
The link at top has an embedded video clip in which the plight of the girls and women of one refugee camp in Jordan is made painfully clear. The girls are targeted for abduction and rape, forced prostitution, and "convenience marriages " that consist of a girl or young woman being used for a few weeks and then divorced. Aside from a few brave young men who have taken it upon themselves to protect their women and girls, the only authority figure that should any indignation at what is occurring was the leader of the Mosque of the camp. He describes 60 year-old man from Saudi Arabia (Some come from from other wealthy Gulf states) asking for help in finding a 13 year-old girl for marriage.
The females can't even use the common toilet at night for fear of being assaulted or abducted by the animals who have descended like jackals on the camp. Many of these look specifically for families that have no men or dress as women in order to make approaching their victims an easier task.
I generally avoid videos as I am impatient and would rather read text, but this video should be seen.
