Regarding the deportations of illegals, the strongly Leftist National Public Radio recently took note of what at first glance appears confusing, but makes sense when taken in context.
Illegals who are "self-deporting" which means that they are attempting to leave the US, are being detained - for several months, and then are deported by the US.
The strategy is simple and serves two purposes for the Obama administration:
-Grabbing people who are making it very easy to be caught and who actually want to leave allows for a major shot in the arm for deportation statistics.
-You're not going anywhere until we deport you and get some stats.
-Others who fear the probability of being detained for months will be less likely to attempt to leave the US, thus adding to the numbers of illegals on whom the Obama administration and their Republican collaborators want to confer citizenship (and boost the Democratic voting bloc to a point where national elections are a mere formality*).
-You're not going anywhere until we make you a citizen, at which point you can go anywhere in the US.

"A number of undocumented immigrants are being arrested and imprisoned, not while trying to enter the U.S. as you would expect, they're being caught while trying to leave. That's right, people trying to self-deport, as some politicians have put it, are being prosecuted and given prison sentences then deported anyway. NPR's Ted Robbins has that story.............
JOE AGOSTTINI: They're going to go and see if anyone is transporting illegal proceeds or they're transporting more than $10,000 of money or checks that need to be reported.
ROBBINS: Mexican cartels send big money from U.S. sales south as they smuggle tons of drugs north. Assistant Nogales Port Director Joe Agosttini says the southbound inspections are being done to disrupt that ongoing cycle of drugs and money.
AGOSTTINI: But if in the process you discover that the person is illegally in the U.S., then the person has to pay a consequence.
ROBBINS: That's what has people puzzled. Even if someone doesn't have ties to cartels or any contraband, they're arrested 20 feet from leaving the U.S.
ROBERT BRACK: I've not seen that historically, so it was a significant shift in prosecution policy. And it really surprised me. I didn't see that coming.
ROBBINS: Robert Brack is a federal judge is Las Cruces, New Mexico. He's been called the busiest judge in America - sentencing more than 14,000 people over the last decade for trying to enter the country illegally. He says he only began seeing people prosecuted for trying to leave in the last year or two. Judge Brack says he understands why officers would arrest people trying to smuggle cash to Mexican cartels.
BRACK: But the people that I see didn't have any money. They've never had any money, and they certainly don't have any guns. It's just people that were in the country without permission trying to leave......................
ROBBINS: No one knows exactly how many people have been prosecuted trying to leave the U.S. at land ports. The statistics are lumped in with people caught trying to enter illegally. Cheryl Blum is a lawyer in Tucson. She says she's defended dozens of cases of people caught going back to Mexico to see sick family members, even people wanting to go back permanently. She doesn't understand why.
CHERYL BLUM: If they're trying to leave, they're actually trying to obey the law. I think to stop them and then use up resources just to try to punish these folks is a complete waste of money. It's a complete waste of time. It's an absurdity.
ROBBINS: People convicted after being arrested leaving end up in prison for as long as six months. The bill for that sentence, up to $160 daily for each inmate. Even people who want stricter immigration enforcement think that's a waste. Ira Mehlman is with FAIR, the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
IRA MEHLMAN: They are expending resources on people who are in the process of removing themselves from the country while neglecting the millions and millions of people who are dug in and aren't leaving the country.
ROBBINS: We asked Customs and Border Protection officials why people who want to leave are being arrested. We got no answer. Ted Robbins, NPR News."

Even if Texas were to squeak by - for the moment, relatively unscathed, The House of Representatives and the Senate would be solidly Democratic.
The US will have been unalterably ruined.
Although Conservatives have a real chance of doing some damage in 2014 and 2016 to Progressive legislators and other candidates who have to drag the ball and chain of Obamacare and the myriad of their scandals, Republicans lawmakers would rather complete Obama's transformation for him.

Never mind that immigration doesn’t even score more than 2 percent in polls asking what the most important issue is to the country. Rather than let this sleeping dog lie (at least through November), the Republican leadership is jumping to the assistance of the Democrats by supporting amnesty.

Most Hispanics are natural Democrat voters. Not all, obviously. Many believe in hard work, individual liberty, economic liberty, and obeying the law. But the majority vote Democrat, and the party has been working hard to lock them into government dependency.
If amnesty goes through, the Democrats will flood the zone with millions of more Democrat voters, possibly flip Texas blue, and get their long sought-after permanent Democrat voting majority. If that happens, you will never again see a Ronald Reagan or a George W. Bush. You may never again see a GOP majority in Congress. The Republicans will be relegated to permanent minority status. And a shrinking one at that.
This is the goal of the Democrats.
Why on earth would Republicans want to help them achieve it? Because they think they’ll be “rewarded” by Hispanic voters? That didn’t happen after the 1986 amnesty. The GOP will agree to halt the deportation of 12 million illegal aliens, and sign on to a blanket amnesty. It only asks that the 12 million not be put on a path to citizenship.
Sorry, but losers do not dictate terms. Rich Trumka of the AFL-CIO says amnesty is no longer enough. Illegal aliens must be put on a path to citizenship and given green cards to work — and join unions.
Rep. Paul Ryan and the Wall Street Journal are for throwing in the towel. Legalize them all and start them on the path to citizenship.

They are Third World peoples. They believe in government action and government programs that provide their families with free education, health care, housing, food, and income subsidies. They are not Bob Taft or Barry Goldwater conservatives.
Perhaps 85 percent of all immigrants, legal and illegal, more than a million a year now, are people of color. And while over 70 percent of Hispanics and Asians voted Democratic for Obama, among voters of African descent, the Obama vote was well above 90 percent.
Four of every five U.S. citizens of Asian, African and Hispanic descent vote Democratic in presidential elections. And it is their numbers that are growing. Already they are well over a third of the U.S. population.
As has been observed often, America, demographically, is going to look like California. And while Nixon won California all five times he was on a national ticket, and Reagan won California in landslides all four times he ran, California has not gone Republican in six straight presidential elections..........
If Bush I had built that border fence back in 1992 and declared a moratorium on legal immigration that fall, as many implored him to do, the party of the Bushes would not be facing its demise well before midcentury."

The senator said in a statement emailed to TheBlaze that “amnesty is wrong in any circumstance.”
Republicans need to focus on winning against Obama’s failed policies and not push for immigration legislation that is already presenting numerous legal obstacles and will demoralize voters, many of whom are opposed to amnesty, he added.
