The speaker is clearly stating that we (The community) have failed to put a stop to the concept that parents, unless they are clearly endangering the child , have the final say in how children are raised. We are supposed to believe that the nation as whole has been remiss in its duties and has let parents have the final say for far too long.
Also, in a response to the outcry following the story, Ms. Perry pretends to be under the impression that, if her position is wrong, then parents should be grading student's tests. In a textbook Leftist maneuver, she compares the job for which she is paid to the overall authority of parents.

We keep hearing how the Left wants your kids.
"It takes a village to raise a child", was one of the earlier portents of what they had in mind.
The curricula in our public schools, most notably the US-denigrating and Western identity erasing CSCOPE* - one of the latest to hit the shelves, is custom designed to train young people to detest the type of civilization that created this country.

In the video embedded in the link at top, the speaker is making it clear that the Left is no longer disguising any of their intentions. They want your kids; in fact, they are not really yours. The "community" has a stake in them and we have to change how we view the rights of parents to decide what their children learn.
Spartan society was nothing compared to what the Left is doing here. Like most other ancient peoples, the Spartans had slaves, something that we are quite happy to have, thanks to the party of Lincoln, excised from our nation. In their defense, however, the Spartans at least encouraged their citizens to compete and to strive for excellence. The Left, in a full reversal of this plan, wants to re-enslave US society as a whole and to render is as stagnant as a retention basin.
While the Left is forcing illiteracy on our kids with the "sight word"** system and having them, in a sort of throwback to the Paleolithic era, count on their fingers, they speak in noble terms about investing more in the education of our youth. What is conspicuously left out is that they have no desire to teach anything to our kids - what they want is to make them Leftist cyborgs who will. upon reaching 18, pull the lever for them on election day.
The video is very short but as telling as can be. I can't imagine that anyone who until now harbored any doubt about what is in store for US children (Let alone what has already happened) will still have those doubts after hearing what the speaker is advocating:

The products of these Leftist factories will turn against the very societies that bred them and their parents. While the subject nations of the Ottomans sadly lost their most athletic boys and most beautiful girls for slave-soldiers and sex slaves, to the officers of the Vizier, the US Left wants each and every one of our kids, and they will seek to use the law to do so.
Joseph Kony is small potatoes compared to these guys.
I have no doubt that they will continue to push programs like CSOPE, forbidding parents to see what is being preached to their kids (That has already occurred), go after home-schooling families and Catholic and other Christian schools. They will leave no stone unturned in their campaign to, in the words of Bertolt Brecht:
"Some party hack decreed that the people
had lost the government's confidence
and could only regain it with redoubled effort.
If that is the case, would it not be be simpler,
If the government simply dissolved the people
And elected another?"
I have only one question.
At what point to Americans decide that we have to divorce ourselves from the Left, separate salvageable states from the doomed parts of the US, and reestablish a republic in which not only are the schools free of anti-US propaganda, but also one that ensures that parents are free to make decisions for their own children?
